1929 - 2014
Carol Hudson Newton, 85, passed away after a long battle with Lymphoma and Alzheimer's disease. She died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, May 4, 2014.
She was born April 24, 1929 in Taylorsville, Utah; the daughter of Clifford Gordon Hudson and Zoy Thomander. She married Rex B. Newton August 29, 1953; and later was sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Carol graduated from West High School and worked at Woolworth's, the LDS Church Offices, Midwest Service & Supply, and Highland Dairy, all of Salt Lake City.
She is survived by her husband, Rex B. Newton and children, Linda (Harold) Moore, Larry (Geri Lin) Newton, and Sandy (Kenneth) Branch; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and brothers Gordon (Miriam) Hudson, and Steven (Margarita) Hudson. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Renee' and her great-grandson, Jackson.
The family gives special thanks to Carol's Canyon Hospice workers: Kim, Annette, Kelly, Liz and Martha for the service and the loving care they have given our wife and mother.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 9th at 11 :00 am. in the Cottonwood Heights 4th Ward , 2522 East 6710 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Friends may call Thursday, May 8th at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church prior to service from 9:45-10:45 am. Interment Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery.
