1930 – 2012

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and gentle spirit, Bertie Hill Marti, 82, passed away October 14, 2012.

Born August 8, 1930, Salt Lake City, Utah to Golden Return Hill and Marie Pack Hill.  Married her “sweet Ray”, whom she adored, on June 8, 1951, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Member of the LDS church, Bertie served a mission with her husband to Melbourne, Australia, where she was the mission secretary. Bertie worked many years as a medical and dental assistant.  She loved and was loved by the hundreds of patients she served.   She had a cheerful disposition, delightful spirit and a great love for her family.  No one enjoyed a yard full of trees, flowers, plants and all the birds that visited more than Bertie.

Survived by five children, Kenneth (Akiko), Evelyn (Gary) Reynolds, Steve (Katrina), David, Marie (Tim) Spencer, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, twin brother, Bert (Ruth) Hill, sisters, Elaine (Calvin) Harris, Ramona Smith and sister-in-law, Veda Hill.  Preceded in death by husband, Ray Kenneth Marti, two brothers, Derrell and Glen and sister, Dorothy Christensen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 18, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at the Brighton 3 rd Ward, 2301 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S).  A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and the day of the service at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.  Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery.
