Ann Clair Kingdon Howells
1944-2016
Ann Clair Kingdon Howells, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend died of Chronic lung disease on September 27, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born to George T and Helen M. Kingdon. Graduated from Highland High ‘62 , Utah State University in Elementary Ed and Early Childhood development ‘66. Married Spencer F. Howells June 7,1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who loved serving in many capacities. Married to her devoted husband, Spencer, of 50 years. Mother of Dan(Amy), Sarah(Layne), Kathryn (Robert), Amy Clair, Paul (Michelle), 18 Grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Ann was loved by all and had many wonderfully devoted friends. Her vibrant zest for life and optimistic attitude was infectious. She battled her long and difficult diseases with bravery and grace.
She was a woman of many gifts and talents. Her perspective through her stunning blue eyes was that of an artist and she had a passion for creating and appreciating beautiful things. She loved to paint, knit, and sew lovely things for and with the people she loved. She had many lifelong friends in her beloved book club and her painting and quilting groups.
Growing up, she was the middle of three children. She was protected and adored by her older brother Tom and always in cahoots and giggles with her younger sister Susie. Both of which were treasured relationships.
In her career as a school teacher, "Miss Ann," was a cherished first teacher of many children's preschool and kindergarten years. She had advanced degrees in macaroni necklaces and finger painting.
Her favorite title was "Grannie Annie" and she had unique and individual relationships with all of her grandchildren. Grannie wanted to celebrate everything! Party planning was her full-time gig and we know she is now enjoying a happy reunion with her loved ones, especially her son Dan and her parents who have preceded her in death.
