Adele Nancy Hemingway Damron passed away on September 5, 2026 at home, surrounded by family. She is survived by her children Janet (Steve) Whitworth, Greg (Naomi) Damron, Debbie Brackett, Julie (Dan) Bletzacker, and Bill (Rachelle) Damron; her brother, Lynn Hemingway; her sister, Kay Wade; and her brother, Michael Hemingway.
She married Ronald Damron in 1949.
A lifelong resident of Salt Lake City, she lived in the home Ron built in 1959. She was a member of the LDS Church, where she served as secretary of the Primary for many years.
During her life she spoiled her family with her cooking and baking. She was also an accomplished seamstress who sewed the wedding dress worn by all three of her daughters. She loved working in her yard, and she loved bowling, once scoring a 600 series. She also enjoyed exercise and walking, often walking to the Cottonwood Mall and back.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald F. Damron; her parents, Helen and Eugene Hemingway; five siblings; and a granddaughter and great-grandson.
Thank you to the kind people at Canyon Health Care and Hospice who made a difficult time more bearable.
Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5913 South Highland Drive. A viewing will be held Friday, September 11, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m.
