Kurt H Warnecke
2/17/1962 – 7/16/2017

Kurt was a Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle and Friend.  He was preceded in death by his Mother (Dorothea), Father (Charles),  and brother-in-law (Kyle).  He is survived by his wife, Kimbra; children, Cassity, Tate, Tyse, Scott, Dean, Haley, Sean, Hayli, Emmily; mother-in-law Kay; sister Lynn; brother Charles (Sallie); nieces and nephews Lindsay, Lauren, Braxton, Grayce, Sadie, Torie, Elizabeth and Taylor; Grandchildren Andrew and Jax.

Kurt excelled in everything he did.  He earned a Masters in Education, Bachelors in Sports Science, Associates in Drafting, a CDL, and was Utah’s Ski Instructor of the year.  He coached diving for 17+ years and a number of State Champions.  He took 2nd in State Diving as a Senior at Cottonwood High School in 1980.  He loved the outdoors, camping with family, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fly-fishing, rock climbing, cliff diving, and the list goes on….

The joy he found in teaching others has brought richness to generations of people.  He will be remembered by hundreds of kids and adults each time they put on skis, pick up a fly rod, step on a diving board, go hiking, pick up trash in the canyons, or just receive kindness from a stranger.

A celebration of life will be held August 5th from 6:30-10:00 pm at 2368 East Oakcrest Lane, Holladay

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his honor to the Huntsman Cancer Research Hospital.  And PLEASE, for your loved ones, have your preventive procedures!  They save lives.
