Howard Ashley Woods

July 18, 1945 ~ April 15, 2019 (age 73)

Funeral Recording

Our loving Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather Howard Ashley Woods passed away on April 15, 2019 at his home in Cottonwood Heights, UT from cardiac arrest.

Howard was born July 18, 1945 in Salt Lake City, UT to Roger Shaw Woods and Helen Buehner. He grew up on the East Bench of Salt Lake City graduating from Skyline High School in 1963.  He served an LDS Mission to the Northwestern States Mission (Twin Falls ID, Portland OR and Seattle WA) where he served nobly for his Father in Heaven.  He was a plumbing contractor by trade and was fortunate enough to continue plumbing up until his passing.

Howard loved serving his Father in Heaven through scouting, serving in Bishoprics, High Priest Group leadership or home teaching- all of which endeared him to those he served.   His kids cherish the Fisherman, Outdoorsman, and avid scouter. Family was everything to Howard and he loved being involved with his grandkid's activities and achievements.

Howard was a people person who made friends wherever he went. He could not pass up an opportunity to tease, make a “dad joke” or share his testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  And he usually ended up with a friend for life.

Howard is survived by his six children: Tiffany (Nathan) Whiting, Mindy (Reed) Hill, Andrew (Rachelle) Woods, Brady (Lindsay)Woods, Cami (Alex) Aley and   Mitch (Tiffany)Woods, 18 Grandchildren and 1 great Granddaughter, his brother Geoff Woods and sisters Sylvia Kuhn, Nancy Frank, Valerie Lowry, Jenny Cox and Sister in Law Michon Woods.  Preceded in death by his Parents, Brother Roger Woods and Sister Ann Woods and Brother in law Fred Kuhn.

Visitations and Funeral services will be Monday April 22, 2019 at the Cottonwood Heights UT Brighton Stake Center 2895 E. Creek Rd Sandy, Utah.  Visitation with the Family will be from 9:30-10:45 am. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am.  Interment is in the Sandy City Cemetery.
