Elizabeth (Beth) Vincent

June 23, 1952 — November 4, 2019

Milcreek

Elizabeth “Beth” Vincent, beloved sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin, friend and mother of
Sweetie-Pie, her beautiful cat and companion, left this world on November 4th after a short illness.

Beth came into the world on June 23, 1952, in Quincy, MA, and although we were not there, we are sure she was kicking and screaming making her presence known.  Beth always had a fiery and tenacious disposition.  Along with her quick wit and brilliant mind she loved a good debate or to champion the downtrodden and oppressed.  She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved a good prank, and shared a laugh that was contagious.

Lizzie -- yes, over the years Beverly, Elizabeth, Beth, Lizzie Vincent has identified herself with numerous names and occupations.  At times we joked she might be in a witness protection program. Lizzie’s generosity knew no bounds.  She made it her personal mission to bring love and joy to as many people in her world as possible.  Hence the hundreds of beautifully crocheted hats being worn all over Salt Lake, Vermont, Florida and Massachusetts.

Beth’s artistic talents were endless.  She crocheted, knitted and sewed without patterns.  She crafted her own cards, was an amazing florist, and an awe-inspiring, prolific writer.  She was a nursing assistant and caregiver for many years.  She always gravitated toward work and play that would help others or bring beauty into the world.

One of Beth’s greatest joys was family.  In particular, her niece, Heather, all her nephews, great nieces and nephew.  She couldn’t wait to hear the latest stories or see the newest pictures.  She loved them, encouraged them, laughed when they laughed, and cried when they hurt, and was their greatest cheerleader.  We are sure she would have attended every concert, sporting event or activity if she hadn’t lived so far away.  Although far from family, some of her happiest times were spent in Utah.  She was surrounded by so many loving, supportive and generous individuals. Two special friends Jerry Snow and Bill Clark were especially close to her heart.  They supported her through thick and thin, ups and downs, and always remained
her loyal friends and family by choice.

Beth was an important part of our life story and will always remain in our hearts and minds.  As Rossiter Worthington Raymond wrote: “Life is eternal, and love is immortal, and death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.”  We love you and will miss you sweet sister, until we meet again.

Elizabeth loved the following passage from 1st Corinthians 13:13: “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.”
