Our loving Father and Grandfather, age 73, passed away on Saturday, February 20th, 2010 peacefully and was reunited with his loving wife Tamra on their 50th wedding anniversary. He was born February 4th, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Floyd and Hazel Tapp and later married Tamra Juretich Tapp February 20th, 1960 in Coalville, Utah.

Jack was a highly ethical, hard working individual who gained the respect of all those he worked with. His most fond memories came from his time working for Westcon in Pleasant Grove, Utah and the many friends and associates he worked with within the construction industry.

Jack enjoyed the hobby of Bottle Digging. He spent many weeks traveling to ghost towns in Utah and digging for old bottles and had many friends and associates which he shared the love of his hobby with.

Jack had a passion for cars which began as a youth. As a young man he raced cars at Bonneville Raceway where he won many trophies and later in life enjoyed restoring old cars and painting flames on anything that had wheels including his lawnmower.

Jack loved the beauty of the earth and was blessed with the gift of landscaping. His yards were always filled with beautiful rock walls, waterfalls, flowers and trees.

Most of all Jack was a tender heart who sometimes was misunderstood but loved all those he came in contact with. He will be truly missed!

Jack is survived by his brother, Steve (Nina) Tapp; sister, Connie (Dennis) Whitworth; his children, Jack and Kathy (from a previous marriage), Bart aka “Beat the Creep” (Pennie) Tapp, Chet aka “Cheddar Cheese” Tapp, Shane aka “Booberts” (Jamie) Tapp, Misty aka “Magoogle Mugwamp” (Doug) Dahl; his grandchildren Tanya (Rodney) Rasmussen, Brock, Courtland, Summer, Sienna, Ethan, Aurora, Rigel and Skydin. Those who proceeded him in death are his loving wife Tamra, son Shawn, his parents Floyd and Hazel Tapp, his brothers Rowland and Donald, and his grandson Orion.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and funeral services  on Thursday, February 25th at 11:00am with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 prior to the funeral.  All services will be held at Cannon Mortuary located at 2460 East Bengal Blvd. (7600 South), Salt Lake City, Utah.  Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, Utah.

I was sorry to hear of Jack's passing, but felt joy that he was reunited with Tamra on their wedding anniversary. I loved working with Jack all those years at Westcon. He was such a good man, and I know how much his family meant to him. Chet, my friend, I'm so sorry that grief has touched you once again. May you find comfort in knowing your mom and dad are having a wonderful reunion, free from the pain and sorrows of this world. I had hoped to be able to attend the funeral today, but work responsibilities just aren't going to allow it. Please know that you're in my heart and prayers.

Love,
Linda
