  (Service time is 12:00 NOON)

Our sweet Mother, Sister, and Nana passed through the veil on Monday, May 7, 2012 surrounded by loving family members.  She was met there by both parents, 4 siblings, and an infant daughter.   Verna was born April 23, 1929 in Fielding, Utah to Leonard Standing and Leona Earl.  She graduated from Bear River High School where she played the Clarinet in the band, and enjoyed all types of music and singing.  Verna and her sister Lila Miller sang and performed at many Weddings, Socials, and Funerals.

After High School Verna moved to Ogden where she married Frank Keyes, and had two children Michael Keyes (Zona ) and Eileen Keyes Pitcher (Jeff).  She later married Quentin Beasley and had her last child Keith Beasley (Janet).  She later married Harold (Mickey) McGraw, and helped raise his son Michael McGraw as her own.  (She really didn’t want us to publish all those husbands’ names.

Verna was a wonderful Mother who instilled in her children a sense of love, kindness and compassion.  She was loved by all who knew her and had a great love for all animals and the outdoors.  Verna was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Nana cherished all of her Grandchildren and so enjoyed their visits and phones calls.  She always kept them updated on any local and world events (Including the Weather & natural disasters.)

Verna is survived by her three children, 13 Grandchildren, 28 1/2 Great Grandchildren, and 1 sister Lila (Dennis) Miller.

A graveside service will be held in her honor Sat. May 12, 2012 at 12:00 PM at the Ogden City Cemetery.  Address 1875 Monroe Blvd, Ogden Utah 84401.  Condolences may be shared at: www.cannonmortuary.com.

I worked with your Mom for several years at HAFB and enjoyed every minute of her company! She has always held a special fondness with me. She was a delight to be around whether we were "frazzled" by all the nonsense of working there or not! And she was continually a gracious and beautiful lady! Sincere condolences to all of you!

Dear Mike McGraw and family...
I had the priviledge of meeting Verna a couple of years ago. She was one of the patients that I cared for. Verna was a very sweet, kind, lovely lady and I was blessed to know her. Mike, I told her that I knew you from years ago, and she had so much good to say about you. I could tell that she truly loved you, and was proud of you!

May God bless and comfort you all as you start down this road of sorrow!

Mike, Zona, and family, I am so sorry to learn about Verna's passing, but know your memories of all the good times with her will help sustain you, until you can all be together again. My thoughts and prayers go out to all your family, and Mike, isn't it strange how our Mother's decided it was time to leave us in 2012. Even Tara's Mom left in late March. They are all up there having a great time, waiting for us to arrive, where there is no longer time as we know it. Just a beautiful eternity. May god bless you and comfort you. Love you, Sharon

I am so sorry to learn of your loss as I was reading the paper today. I worked with your mom for many years at HAFB and she has always been the sweetest person! I've really enjoyed our association over the years, and I never knew anyone who didn't like her. I sure hope I'll be able to see all my wonderful friends again someday, and may you all be strengthened by the memories you cherish. May the Lord bless you all at this difficult time. Carolyn Brown
