Our beloved “Bill” peacefully and quietly departed from
this life and returned to his Heavenly Father and eternal family in the early
morning hours on February 11, 2010.
Bill was born in Rifle, Colorado to Harvey and Minnie Hefley.
He grew up on the family ranch in Rangely, Colorado. He met the love of his life,
Kathleen Searle and they were married on August 25, 1961. Their marriage
was later solemnized in the Manti temple.
He made his living as a rancher on the White
River in Rangely where he raised his family. Later, he was
employed as a heavy equipment operator and traveled to job sites in the western
US. He took great pride in his work. Bill was an active member of
the LDSChurch and enjoyed serving in many
callings throughout his life. He was a avid sports fan and
loved watching football and basketball games. Most treasured to Bill was
the time spent with his family in BlairBasin. He believed
in hard work, good fun and integrity in all things.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; children, Cherie
(Eric) of CottonwoodHeights; Natalie (Ron) of Bentonville AR and Cody
(Kara) of Sandy; grandchildren, Dustin
(Melissa), Andrea, Dixon (Sheridan), Hunter, Jordan, Mauri, Dylan and
two special grandsons, Adam and Mat. He has one great-grand-daughter
McKenna. He was preceded in death by his parents and all his
siblings. We mourn our loss, he will be missed by all, but we rejoice in
his peace. There is a joyous reunion happening in heaven today!
There will be a visitation held on Sunday, February 14,
2010 at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460
E. Bengal Blvd, from 6 – 8 pm. Funeral
services will be held in Vernal, Utah on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the
Glines 8th Ward 1500 S. 1250 W. at 12 noon. A viewing will be
held prior to the service from 10:30 am – 11:45 am. Burial will be at the
Maeser cemetery.
Dear Kathleen,
Allen and I send our thoughts and prayers to you and your family. We remember fondly our time together in
apple Valley Ward. It is never easy to let our loved ones go, but we are sure your testimony of the Gospel will bring you through this difficult time. We know that the Holy Ghost will give you comfort and peace. Please let Cherie know that Chris is out of town. She will not be back until next week. We love you.
Allen and Marla Carlisle

Dear Hefley family,
I wish to expess my deepest sympathy for your loss. The time that Bill shared with me has had a lasting impact and I will never forget him. Fortunately, when Bill was working in Wyoming I was able to express my gratitude and explain how the time that he spent with me up Spring Creek remains valuable. He was a humble teacher and a good Hand.

To the Hefley Family, My Mom and I are remembering you in our prayers today and in the coming days as you deal with your loss. Rangely, Colorado was a better place for having had Bill Hefley as one of it's esteemed residents. Now, Heaven shares in that esteem. Most sincerely, Kim (Mann) Poulton and Allene Mann

Dear Kathleen, Cherie, Natalie, Cody and all other family members.
We as a family are so sorry for your loss. It just seems like yesterday that we were all young and having fun times together.
Our friendship stems from way back to the good ole Rangely days, moving forward to today and on into tomorrow.
Lorain and I were so glad to get to see you, Kathleen and Bill, at our last class of 1957 reunion. Wish we would have had more catch up time. Our children all send you their love as they also reminisce on school days together. You are all in our prayers and Kathleen I will be calling you real soon. We send our love to you all.
Love The Bradys

To the Hefley Family: I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I went to high school with Bill and, even though I haven't seen him for many years, I have fond memories of him and of all of his siblings.
My condolences, Patty

My dad, Gary Gurr, told me of your father passing. I asked if that wasn't Natalie and Cherie's dad. He said it was. I remember you all from when we were little children and visiting in Rangely. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time. I hope all will be well with you and our family.
