1928-2018

Maxine Brim Barnes, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away and was reunited with her husband, Friday, January 5, 2018.

Born February 4, 1928, Downey, Idaho to Willis LaVern and Erma Hyde Brim.  Married Eugene J. Barnes on March 31, 1948 in the Logan Temple.  Six weeks after their marriage Gene left to serve a full-time mission to the North Central States Mission.  Maxine joined to serve with him the last six months.  Eugene passed away May 9, 2000.

Maxine loved her life as a farm girl in Cambridge, Idaho and preferred field work to house work because she loved horses. She was a skilled rider and was the Bannock County Fair Rodeo Queen.  Maxine was raised by loving parents and had a wonderful family.  She was a strong, loving mother and wife.  She was an avid reader and taught her children the love of books.  Maxine shared the joy of living the gospel of Jesus Christ with her children and faithfully fulfilled her many church callings and supported her husband in his callings.  As the years passed and strength failed Maxine was loved and cared for by her daughter, Teresa.

Survived by children, Randall (Claire), Gregory (Diane), Teresa (Duke) Edwards, Layne (DaNette); 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; brother Larry (Sharron) Brim; sisters, Margaret (Richard) Boyle, Beulah (Richard) Kenney; sister-in-law, Linda Brim.  Preceded in death by husband and brother, LaVern Brim.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at the Cottonwood Creek 4th Ward, 1834 East Creek Road (7995 S.)  A visitation will be held prior to service at the church from 9-9:45 a.m.  Interment Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge, Idaho.

The family wishes to thank Sunrise of Sandy Assisted Living for the excellent care Maxine received.
