Kelly passed away on August 8, 2017, at the very young age of 20, in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. He was born to Patricia and Robert Stavrides in Raleigh, NC. Kelly was a kind soft spoken person, and treated everyone with respect. His perseverance and strength were a remarkable gift. He and his brother, Nick, did everything together as kids, always hand in glove and watching out for each other. Kelly loved doing his best at everything.
Kelly had an injury in football and began having debilitating headaches. He was diagnosed with a condition called Chiari Malformation of the Brain (birth defect) in January 2013 and endured a complicated surgery. After the surgery, Kelly did not feel very well and suffered severe insomnia, fatigue, brain fog and depression and an overall feeling of helplessness caused by the disease.
