Elaine June Newhouse
1923-2018

Elaine June Newhouse (Manz), age 94, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 7, 2018 at the Wentworth at Willow Creek Assisted Living Center in Sandy, Utah. She was born in Regal, MN to John and Mathilda Manz on June 29, 1923. After graduating from high school, she went to business school in Minneapolis. While working in Minneapolis she met and later married Lyle Newhouse on July 19, 1949.  They moved to Sherwood, ND where they farmed together. After Lyle passed away in 1993, Elaine continued to live on the farm until 2015 when she moved to Sandy, UT to be near her oldest son, Tom.

Family and her faith were deeply important to Elaine. She loved nature and beautiful things, and she especially enjoyed bird watching, her flowers, music, baking, and being creative. Out of her love for God and for children, she held  Bible Club for elementary children in Sherwood and then Mohall for 30 years. She was happy to host her growing family every summer when many lasting and meaningful memories were created.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; parents; and sisters, Bernice, Phyllis and Darlene. She is survived by sons Thomas (Barb) of Sandy, UT; Marlin (Diana) of Snohomish, WA; William (Glenda) of Rapid City, SD; and daughter Joanne (Mark) Ericson of Prior Lake, MN; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Her family is grateful for the godly heritage she left and the many years of prayer coverage she provided.

The family and friends will gather to celebrate her life on April 21 in Sandy, UT.
